  • Compatible Drills for Garden Augers, Tree Augers and Post

Our garden augers can be used with almost any drill. Because the garden augers are made on a 3/8'' shaft, you'll need a drill with at least a 3/8'' chuck size. Typically any corded drill will power the garden augers. However, if using a cordless drill, you'll need a quality drill with plenty of volts, preferably 18 volts.

  • Auger Style, Cable Installer Drill Bit, 1/4 in Drill Bit Size

Wire-fishing holes on the drill bits' body and shank allow wire and cable to be pulled through the holes that were created during drilling. The bits have a self-starting split point that prevents them from moving, or walking, when starting to drill, which eliminates the need for using a center drill to create a starter hole before drilling.

  • Post hole auger size???? | Green Tractor Talk

I agree with Satch on the auger size. You get a little more wiggle room for placement. And in my experience, my 12 inch auger performs better than my 9 inch. It all depends on your soil obviously, but I think the added weight provides the necessary momentum to dig in my rocky clay. The 9 inch seems to break a lot of shear bolts.
